Urban Decay Naked Smoky Review

Christmas has come and gone and guess what I got… make up! And money for make up! With that being said, i’m going to try to post on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays faithfully and my first batch of posts are all about make up! The first review of this batch will be the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette, which I have been dying to get my hands on since it came out in July. (Yes I am aware that Palette is spelled wrong in the picture. No I am not going to correct it).

Urban Decay Naked Smoky

What I love about this: Everything. The packaging is adorable and kind of see through, and its magnetic to the top, which is a major improvement from the Naked 2 palette (which I have and LOVE by the way). Its split up into 2 major color selections: Shimmery to Matte. The shimmers are colors High to Slanted, then its matte from there. What surprises me is how shimmery the shimmers actually are. They’re not to BOOM IN YOUR FACE but they’re also not to dull, which is great. The mattes stay on really well and the brush that comes with it is also amazing!

What I dislike about this: Literally, there is nothing. All the colors work lovely for me personally and I don’t have anything to complain about yet.

Overall opinion: Everyone needs this palette! Don’t let it fool you that it can only be used for dramatic looks, because I suck at making those but i’ve been using this palette almost every day since I’ve got it.

Bonus: Urban Decay Primer Potion

What I love about this: This is my ride or die primer. I love this shit. I got it for the first time a year ago when they had the old applicator (that you can still get, apparently) and I fell in love. I had never seen my shadow stay on so well than it did when I used this stuff. I ran out over the summer and didn’t have the money or will power to get some more, so I used a different primer from e.l.f. and i wasn’t impressed at all (that formula dried out soo quickly). I got my new primer in my stocking this year and I’m so happy its back in my life!

What I dislike about this: It’s taking some time for me to get used to the new applicator. The old one that I used to have was just a squeeze tube, so i’d squeeze the perfect amount onto my finger and rub it in. This i always end up with way to much product, so either I need to use a brush like you’re probably supposed to or I need to find a different way to get it on.

Overall opinion: Get this. It’s worth the $20, believe me you won’t regret it.
