I love Netflix. Well, most people love Netflix but now that I’m out of school and have a bit of time on my hands I’ve been watching more and more things lately. I decided “You know what would be a good idea? Making a post about all the things I’ve watched.” So I decided to start What I Watched Wednesdays!
This will be a bi-weekly series that will recap everything I’ve watched over the past two weeks. I decided to make it bi-weekly because sometimes I don’t watch a whole heck of a lot of things. The things I watch will range from episodes of TV shows, full seasons, movies from Netflix, and documentaries. Oh boy, have I been watching documentaries. The formatting will be the title – my rating. Now without further ado, let’s get to it!
I will usually put these posts in order that I watched them, but movie people like me probably want to know an opinion on this. While my full review will come on Monday (followed by Wonder Woman on Wednesday) I will say this: don’t listen to critics. It was fantastic and stay until the credits are done rolling.
Mommy Dead and Dearest (HBO) – 4.5/5
Not on Netflix, but I have an HBO subscription and really wanted to watch this. It was all over my Facebook feed for about a week and I decided to watch it because what everyone else was saying intrigued me. I was extremely reeled in by this documentary because I just had to think “Who is that messed up in the head that this can happen?” I’ll try not to give too much away, but check out the summary on the link above and give it a watch.
I had been dying to watch this since it aired. Carrie Fisher is notoriously hysterical so I knew that this would be a good watch for me. It shows you how deep of a bond that Fisher and Reynolds really did have – they were next door neighbors!
Elizabeth at 90 – 4.5/5
I saw this on a friend’s Snapchat and since I have a strange fascination with royalty (probably why my first novel is going to be about medieval royalty) I thought I would give it a watch. It was really fantastic and all the archive footage shot by the Queen herself is just awesome to watch.
Sense8 season 2 (episodes 1-4) – 5/5
This has been out for a few weeks now but I still love it so far. It really dives in deeper to the cluster’s feelings and goes into more depth so far as to what the relationship they really have with each other is.
I’m trying to figure out how I will format shows that are premiering weekly, but for now, I’ll fit them in here. This week’s episode of Doctor Who was INSANE! It was the most suspenseful and intense episode of the season so far and the Doctor finally had to reveal a weakness of his to Bill and she actually kind of did a dumb to save him but it was still an amazing episode.
That’s it for this week! Tune in two weeks from now to see what I’ve watched since today.
