Hey everyone! As promised, here is my week 1 update on my NaNoWriMo this year so far! It was a long first week, but my will to finish this story was what overtook me and let me keep going on. It was off to a good start, then I didn’t write for 3 days, then I caught up mostly, then I fell behind, and now I’m caught up to what NaNoWriMo says I should be at to finish on time. Read on below the cut to my stats!
As you can see, it was a bit of a rough start for me.
On day 1 I managed to write the minimum amount to finish on time and was right on track. Then the second day I didn’t write at all. The third day I wrote a little, didn’t write the fourth, and then JUMPED up on day 5, not quite caught up but better than I was. After that, I’ve been on track ever since.
I’m talking to other people in various Facebook groups and on Twitter who are doing this as well and have the support of everyone in my life to get this done. As you can see the goal I have for this day is 13,333 words. I want to get above that.
This Sunday, November 12th, I’m going to Rhode Island Comic Con all day long so I probably won’t have the time to write. Saturday is also proving to be a busy day for me too. I’d rather get ahead now by 1 or 2 days so that if I don’t end up writing anything at all then I can still be on track. It’s going to take a lot of work, but I think it can happen if I try hard enough.
This NaNoWriMo, I feel like I’m not struggling for words or the story, it’s flowing much more naturally and I’m much happier with the way it is coming out. Here’s to another week – I’ll be back next week to update on my week 2 progress!
