Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…

Welcome to Star Wars Week – where every day this week there will be a new blog post summarizing/reviewing/talking about every single movie in the Skywalker Saga! We are starting with the Phantom Menace and will go all the way through to finally The Rise of Skywalker next Friday. For times sake we are excluding Rogue One and Solo, so I am sorry if you wanted to see those in the line up. If you missed a post in the series fear not, just click on Star Wars under the Geek category and they will all be there for you to see!

I am very sorry this is up late! I am literally writing this at 6:30pm on the day of posting. The premiere for The Rise of Skywalker was last night and I got absolutely no writing done after finishing the movie. So it’s going to be another late night for me tonight and another late post tomorrow, probably.

In any event, we round up the Original Trilogy with what was thought to be the last Star Wars movie to be made. Let’s just get into it since I am already late enough, shall we?

We know more or less when the movie begins where this one is going to pick up, after the ending of the last movie. Han is in carbonite therefore we need to go get him.

R2 and 3PO start the trouble of course, and then followed by Leia making a heroic attempt at getting Han that would have succeeded if Boba Fett wasn’t suspicious of her the entire time.

Honestly, Luke stepped it up in this one. He was the hero that was needed, he came in and kicked ass using the Force like Yoda had taught him. Speaking of Yoda, he goes back to finish his training and Yoda dies, leaving him on the cliff hanger of “There’s another one” meaning there’s another Skywalker.

Luke decides to use that brain of his and concludes that the other Skywalker is Leia. I know, it’s a miracle. Luke has a brain.

My favorite part of the movie is easily the Ewoks. I love furry little creatures and teeny droids in Star Wars, so I naturally want about 50 Ewoks and 50 Baby Yodas. I also like how when all hope seems lost, they’ve been captured by the Empire after their plan goes to shit, the Ewoks come out and wreck their shit with like, rocks and stuff.

Obviously one of the bigger moments of the movie is the end where Vader gets redeemed and saves Luke from being tortured by Palpatine and then throws said Palpatine over the ledge to die.

Not.

That’s about all I’m gonna say for this one. Sorry its a little shorter than normal but we’ll be back tomorrow in the final countdown!
