This weekend I made the small mistake of going into Sephora. Mistake? Yes. I always go in there and want to buy every single Naked Palette and all the foundations and lipsticks. But, I managed to walk out with just two things: the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette (which is what I planned to buy) and (this one was impulse) Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Beloved. Today is the first day I put them both on so I can write a little review for them. So, without further ado, here is my Sephora Mini-Haul Review!
(I apologize in advance for the lower quality pictures. They were taken on my iPhone 5S.)
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
What I Love About This: Most of it, really. The first thing that sticks out to me is the cute little container it comes in. It literally looks like a chocolate bar on the outside and its adorable. When you open it, and this is what I love the most, you get the strong aroma of chocolate right in your face. Literally, it SMELLS like CHOCOALTE. How does make up even smell like that?!? I don’t know, but that’s what sold me when I smelled it in the store. There is a variety of shadows, a lot of neutral colors and a lot of semi-vivid colors. The actual colors are very shimmery and pretty. The Creme Brulee color is what I used on my eyes along with Triple Fudge, then i went under my eyes with Haute Chocolate and the look came out very pretty.
What I was Bummed About: Creme Brulee spread wicked easy and to much for what I was hoping for, Triple Fudge I had to really pack in there and Haute Chocolate didn’t spread quite like I thought it would. That’s really all I was pretty bummed about, that and it didn’t come with an applicator. Also, my palette had 3 of the colors come out of the packaging, but that was an easy fix with super glue.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
What I Love About This: The packaging is super fucking cute and the color, Beloved, is super coral-pink. Sephora says its more of a coral if you look online, but its more of a combo of both in my eyes. It goes on super easily and all in one dip of the formula for your lower, than I dipped back into for the upper. It dries with a matte finish and you can hardly feel it there once it dries.
What I was Bummed About: There isn’t much I’m bummed about with this. Since this is my first time using liquid lipstick ever, the only thing I’m not to crazy about is how much of a pain it was to get off. When I first bought it I went home and put some on just to see what it looked like on myself, and it took me forever to get it off that eventually I just gave up and kept it on overnight.
Final Thoughts & Look
Overall, I’m going to buy from both of these lines again. The Chocolate Bar smells so freaking good that I spend time just smelling it and the Kat Von D Everlasting line has SO many different colors that I’m going back to the mall tonight and buying a darker color just to try it out, as well as an eyeliner from a line that i’m not sure of yet.
