Doctor Who at San Diego Comic Con

I knew there was going to be Doctor Who at San Diego Comic Con… I didn’t know there was going to be THIS much. I am going to safely say that I was NOT READY.

No one was ready. We knew this was Jodie Whittaker’s first comic con as the Doctor (and I’m pretty sure period, correct me if I’m wrong though). We knew they were gonna go big or go home, but oh good gosh I was not ready.

But hey, it’s also my birthday so happy birthday to me, right?

First thing’s first, if you’re expecting a well-constructed post with not a lot of fangirling and evaluation of what everything means, you’ve come to the wrong blog. This is definitely not what is going to happen in this post. Because I am a total wreck over this blasted show.

The first thing that ruined me is this video they played before Jodie went on stage:

They knew that they needed to bring her in with a bang and be monumental because OHMYGODTHEDOCTORISAWOMANOHMYGOD!!!

I was pretty much okay during that entire video until the end when she met up with the cosplayer and asked how to get to Hall H. Another thing that made me cry was the applause that she got when she went onto the stage in the hall.

They also showed a video compilation of people reacting to Jodie’s casting announcement. I sobbed through the whole thing because everybody was just SO FREAKIN HAPPY!!!!

And then…. the TRAILER. Like, it wasn’t a long trailer but it was a TRAILER!! And that’s what really fucked me up.

I can’t even begin to think of the thing that fucked me up first from this video. I think the whole thing as a hole contributed to the fucky-ness of my freak out.

Seeing her in 12’s costume did me dirty in the first 5 seconds, not gonna lie. Still not over the regeneration, but anyways, I digress.

I think the thing that REALLY effed me up was “would you like to be my new best friends?” I SCREECHED. I CRIED. I WAS A MESS. 13 is absolutely adorable and reminds me so much of 11, she even has different shirts for the time periods like 11’s bowties (pretty sure that was just theory but I like it so i’m rolling with it). She seems like such a fun Doctor and i absolutely can not wait to see her in action!

We’re getting 10 episodes of 10 different stories and a Christmas special as well, according to the creator.

Long story short of this post I’m cosplaying the 13th Doctor at Fan Expo Boston and no one can stop me now. To me fellow Whovians – are you excited for Jodie?!

Same here! I got super emotional when they announced her a year ago, and now emotional that she's starting soon!
