In an attempt to save Blogmas so so close to the end, here I am going to ramble about the fact that i’m trying to write a book.
What else is new? I have two books I’ve been working on for a couple of years, one more further along than the other and they both are stuck at the same-ish place.
Apologies in this post being so late – check my Twitter for the explanation.
So I’ve got two going on that are vastly different, but somewhat the same – they have romance in them and a big fight. Where’s the fight? I don’t know yet, haven’t made it that far.
The first one I have definitely mentioned on here before a long, long, long long time ago and its called the Throne Murders. Just get creative and think about what happens. It’s stuck at the ALMOST halfway point with this one, trying to motivate myself to progress it further and then end it.
This one is so tricky for me because I KNOW how I want it to end and I KNOW how I want the rest of the story to go – I just need to actually write it. This one is getting me also because I get so caught up in re-reading what I have written and editing what I have. This one I am caught up on editing and making it not sound like a senior in high school wrote it – because that’s what I was when I started it.
My second one is called Bonded and it came off an idea for a short story that I wrote in school last year. The critiques all said it would be a better multi-chapter novel rather than a short story so that’s what I did.
It’s also a super romance story and I think thats one problem I’m having with this one – I don’t know what else to put in it. I know that it needs more than just a romance story but I can’t quite figure out what else to put in there.
Does anyone have any tips and tricks for this? Cause I’ve got nothing, other than going back and re-reading and thinking about what inspired me to write it in the first place.
Thankfully for both I do have things that inspired them heavily so I’m hoping that I can go back and get some more inspiration for writing.
